Greetings from The Meads new Beat Officer |
Good Afternoon Resident
I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Beat PC for the Meads ward! I have taken over the area from PC Boosey this week, although he will still be attending the odd engagement over the next month or so whilst the handover takes place. I will publish engagements of my own in due course, but for the moment I will be attending The Meads Community Centre on the morning of 2nd June for a Coffee Morning, along with PC Boosey. A little bit about myself: I have been a Police Officer for over 11 years with my first 7 years spent as a response PC at Medway. I then spent 2 years at Bluewater before transferring to Swale Community Safety Unit where I have spent the last 2 years as the Beat Officer for Sheerness. Through these roles I have gained experience in tackling ASB, retail crime and drug use so I am looking forward to transferring these skills to help combat community issues in The Meads. From the last My Community Voice Survey I have been informed the top 3 priorities in you area are: Highway obstructions From discussions with PC Boosey I have been given a good indication of where these issues are occurring, however there is no better knowledge than that of the residents who are witnessing this first hand, therefore I urge you to keep reporting incidents to Kent Police via the Website, 101, My Community Voice, or 999 if an emergency. The more information I am armed with, the better placed I am to combat the issue. Lastly, on the subject of My Community Voice, I have noticed that only approximately 2% of residents of The Meads are signed up to MCV. It is the only way of having direct contact and updates with your local Police Officer therefore I urge you if you know of anyone who would like to sign up and receive updates to point them in my direction! The more people we have signed up then the better placed we are to make The Meads a safer and more pleasant place to live, shop and socialise. I look forward to seeing and meeting as many of you as possible at future engagements or whilst I am out and about on patrol in the area
